WDR SX R01 Recap (Pro-Am)

Kaydubs Clutches Pro-Am Victory at WDR Supercross Round 1

The WDR Supercross season kicked off with an absolute thriller for the Pro-Am class at Round 1. Packing a massive 22-rider gate onto the technical track format, the race tested every bit of discipline, endurance, and raw speed over a grueling 20-minute plus one lap main event.

When the checkered flag finally dropped, it was a test of survival and consistency at the front of the pack.

Kaydubs Controls the Pace

Kaydubs (#2) entered the opening round with plenty of speed, and by the end of the night, he asserted himself as the class benchmark.

Round 1 - A Clinical Performance

The gate drop saw 80HD (#329) launch off the line to secure an incredible 6.159-second holeshot, capturing early track position for the field. However, Kaydubs quickly established his rhythm, working his way into the lead and dropping the hammer. He crossed the finish line to secure the victory with a comfortable 15.51-second margin over his closest challenger.

Behind him, Binks (#724) put on a masterclass in clean, consistent racing. While many in the field found themselves caught up in track incidents or cutting infractions, Binks kept his wheels under him and didn't give up a single penalty second, securing a well-earned runner-up spot.

Nxte (#302) rounded out the podium in third, crossing the line just 23.48 seconds back from the lead despite managing a minor time penalty. Renix (#435) and Desert (#292) kept the podium finishers honest, executing stellar rides to round out the top five.

Kaydubs left no doubt about his raw speed, logging the fastest lap of the entire main event on Lap 15 with a blistering 1:03.230. Ricco (#157) was hot on his heels in the speed charts, posting a rapid 1:03.475 on Lap 7 before encountering trouble later in the race.

Track Limits Shake Up the Leaderboard

The technical layout proved incredibly difficult to navigate under race conditions, making track discipline a defining factor of Round 1. A total of 12 riders were hit with time deductions for track cutting, causing massive shake-ups in the final running order.

Round 1 Pro-Am Penalty Breakdown:

  • MisaelGamin (#3): 3 separate cutting offences (including a costly 2-second infraction on Lap 2), totaling 4 seconds.

  • Naved (#192), relish (#244), Ricco (#157), & Solidify (#125): Each hit with 3 seconds of total time penalties for multiple lane violations.

  • TTV | Magnus0b187 (#187) & Chase (#337): Received 2 seconds apiece for tracking errors.

  • Kaydubs (#2), Nxte (#302), Kirko (#593), Patwick (#126), & DRip (#552): Kept it mostly clean but received minor 1-second penalties.

Round 1 Classification & Performance

Setting the Tone for 2026

If Round 1 of the Pro-Am championship is any indication, this season is going to be a heavy battle of attrition. Navigating heavy traffic, avoiding track markers, and keeping consistent lap times over 20 minutes proved to be a puzzle that few could perfectly piece together.

Kaydubs has thrown down the first major gauntlet of the season, but with the raw speed shown up and down the top ten, nobody can afford to relax heading into Round 2.
